This is the third one and I have always been pleased with them. The first one is over 6 years old and still runs fine. The next 2 units were upgrades to the i5 processor and are fast.

The Portege R835-P84 combines light weight with long battery life with all the features required, large capacity hard disk, multifunction DVD, reasonable amount of ram, 64bit win 7 and HDMI. My wife has had the previous core i3 version and its been the best laptop we have owned (others owned include compaq, HP and Apple)

Ive been using my Toshiba R835 P81 laptop for less than a month and its the best that you can buy with core I5, 13 inch and DVD that really beats in performance other that cost 1.5 to 2k. To be the king of the portable market the lap just missed the bluetooth and a backlit keyboard, a couple of things so cheap but really needed on the go and just add 20 to 30 dollars to the overall price. The luxury aluminium and carbon fiber structure add more strength to the mobile enviroment. Everything is so well made that the only upgrade that someone could make to improve it is to add a SSD Very Happy, 100% Toshiba

I am a proficient user and have no problems getting information transferred and programs installed. I am enjoying the speed and power of the Portege R835-P84! Looking forward to taking this lightweight laptop on business trips....so much better than the previous seven pound unit we owned. Definitely built for the business professional...

I bought this laptop for three reasons, the small light weight size, the amazing battery life, and the Intel I5 processor power. I think the price is a little high for the feature set but laptops meeting my requirements seem to be similiarily priced. I have owned this unit for 6 weeks and have encountered no issues todate. I have used it at home, on the road while shopping, and at the golf course taping golf swings. It has performed admirably in all environments. I wish it had a couple of more USB ports and maybe backlighting for the keyboard. When I use the unit at home while sitting in my easy chair I have found this unit to just about perfectly fit my needs. However I need to have a light on to see the keyboard during low light use. Maybe the manufactures could start adding a switchable backlight feature to the keyboards of laptops. The I5processor is powerful enough to allow me to handle my pictures and video editing tasks, The size, weight, and battery life allow me to carry around and use "Hassle free". I also have found it compact enough to take along every where I go. I am very happy with this unit and plan on using it for a long time.

I am disappointed with this computer. I really expected more. It is not as fast as I expected, especially on the internet. Andy slight bump and the hard drive is shifted to a safe position. There is too much preloaded junk.
