I purchased this laptop to have a mobile workstation. I have an i7 desktop with 12GB of RAM and 2 GTX470s, powering two 26 inch 1920x1200 monitors (via DVI). This machine does everything I need, short of some gaming (which I barely get a chance to do). I was able to output Portal 2 to an HD TV to show some friends how to complete puzzle, and it played flawlessly on semi-high settings. I have the Toshiba USB docking station that provides an extra VGA port so I can use both monitors (one with dock vga, other with vga on laptop). This machine handles the two big screens flawlessly. I swapped the HD out for an SSD and upped to 8gb of RAM, but performance prior was more than adequate, I just had the SSD from a different machine and the RAM was cheap. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a good, well built, mobile workstation. Perfect for college students and professionals alike. No flashing lights or *look at me* factor, which I love about it. It is very sleek and has a minimalistic design. I've already recommended it to multiple people (two of who picked it up), and they have expressed their gratitude for the recommendation. If I had to say one "con", it would be screen resolution, at 1366x768, it can be strange to get used to. Going from large 16:10s to a small 16:9 takes some getting used to. I put my task bar on the right side of my screen, which helped with the lower vertical resolution while browsing the web/reading documents. I hate to call that a con though, because I knew exactly what I was getting, and there aren't may options with higher resolutions for the extremely great price point that the r835 has. I dock to the larger screens when I'm using it at home or work anyway, so it is mostly an on the road issue.

This laptop really is as light and mobile as it looks online. I am very happy with it. The second generation intel processor is great and the build quality is also very impressive.
