Purchase a Satellite® or Qosmio® laptop with Windows® Vista Home Premium, Business, Business Bonus or Ultimate from ToshibaDirect between 6/29/09 at 1/31/10.

Please note that Refurbished, Tecra®, Satellite Pro® and Portege® laptops, as well as laptops with Windows® XP, Windows® Vista Basic and Windows® Vista Starter do NOT qualify for a free upgrade.

Apply for your free Windows® 7 upgrade using the link below. You must submit valid proof of purchase.

If you purchased a customized laptop, please allow ten business days for your serial number to be entered into the upgrade system.

Your free upgrade will be shipped within 60 days of receiving valid proof of purchase.

Note: The Windows Vista® to Windows® 7 upgrade does not require the removal of Windows Vista® before installing Windows® 7. However, some applications may require removal prior to the Windows® 7 upgrade process and reinstallation once the upgrade is complete. Upgrading Windows® XP to Windows® 7 will require a clean installation of Windows® 7. Please note that the installation may take 3 to 4 hours.

Requirements for Windows® 7

  •  1 GHz or faster 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor
  •  1 GB RAM (32-bit) / 2 GB RAM (64-bit)
  •  16 GB available disk space (32-bit) / 20 GB (64-bit)
  •  DirectX® 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver

Terms and Conditions

  1. Depending on place of purchase, shipping and handling fees may apply.
  2. Offer is valid on all end user purchases of new Satellite® and Qosmio® branded laptop computers pre-installed with the Qualifying Operating System during the Windows® 7 Upgrade Option Program period. Not valid on "B" stock product.
  3. PCs that are licensed for a program-eligible Windows Vista® version which have been downgraded to Windows® XP are also eligible for this program — but a clean installation of the upgrade media will be required.
  4. One upgrade may be ordered per upgrade redemption request. Requests using duplicate serial numbers will not be allowed. You must provide Proofs of Purchase via an original receipt for the place of purchaseof the qualifying Toshiba laptop computer that identifies retailer/reseller, laptop part number, serial number, and date of purchase that is with the Upgrade Promotion period to the designated Toshiba Redemption Center. You must submit all Proofs of Purchase by February 28, 2010 (last postmarked date). Nor more than 25 requests may be shipped to any one address.
  5. An Optical DVD drive to install the Windows® 7 Upgrade Media and Internet access for activation and obtaining any/all necessary driver and application updates will be required.
  6. Additional requirements may be necessary to use certain features. Depending on resolution, video playback may require additional memory and advanced graphics hardware. For some Windows Media Center functionality, a TV tuner and additional hardware may be required. Windows Touch and Windows Tablet require specific hardware. HomeGroup requires a network and PCs with Windows® 7. DVD/CD authoring requires a compatible optical drive. BitLocker requires TPM 1.2; BitLocker To Go requires a USBG Flash Drive; Music and sound require audio output.
  7. Installation for some Windows® 7 products may require you to re-format your hard drive. Upgrades may not allow you to retain certain applications, files and setting as they were in the previous installed edition of Windows software. There you should back your files and setting prior to installation or they may be erased.
