This pc works very well, is really fast. I have never had to re-start it, battery is long enough, 3 hours while using it. The cam and mic work just fine, the sound is veeery decent for a laptop, nice speakers. The only thing that will take you time is to clean it but other than that..i can open as many explorer windows as i want, while having excel and word and msn all working at the same time with no problem at all. Cool for games too, for example nba live 2008 works perfectly. It heats up sometimes using games, but not as bad as most others. Have a blast using it! Its very cheap for what you'll get in return

I have had a really great time with my laptop thus far. It is more than the average user needs in terms of computing power, the battery is great, and very clean design. A couple of things to think about first would be the lack of outputs and a rather small hdd. I also do not like the bios as it is a pain to overclock, in terms of out of hte box performance i give it 5 stars.

Great looking computer, love the SD card reader! USB ports could have been all placed together ,kind of makes a wire mess with more than two things plugged in at the same time. Screen quality is excellent and the HK audio is not to bad for mini speakers.

After having two prior HP products that were less than desireable, I moved up to the Satellite 305. Great little laptop. Used primarily for business but the one drawback is that it does not have a true numeric keyboard. I really miss that feature. Had to purchase an add-on. I would recommend to Toshiba that they offer an XP downgrade. Windows Vista is a different beast. Took we a while to work out the kinks with various software and I'm still unable to utilize some.

I've been dealing in computers since 1983 when I first went to school to be a programmer. I had some concerns about the Toshiba because of the reflective screen but it is not an issue. And also because of Vista. The souped-up RAM makes using it a cinch. As of now, I'm totally pleased and am recommending it to others.

This is my first laptop. I have had other Toshiba products and I don't have too much to complain about with this one. It's fast enough and everything works well, in some cases better than my HP desktop which costs three times as much. My only gripe is one that is common for this series, that being the keys are too shiny and and are hard to see sometimes. I touch type mainly so it's not too much of a problem. I would recommend this laptop for anyone looking for a good performing, inexpensive laptop.

I am very happy with my new laptop, it is my second one. I am so happy with them, the first one is still in use, that I bought 2 Toshiba large screen LCD TV's with plans to buy at least 2 more in the near future. I simply have not had any trouble with them. They are also user friendly, a big plus too.

I've been using the computer for 2 months now and love it. I still have to figure out how to use all of the features, but so far it is simple to use, even for those not very computer literate (like me). I also especially like the way that the computer cooling fan goes out on the side rather than down on the bottom. This keeps your lap from getting really hot from the use and helps keep the laptop cooler on a desk. When the cooling pad is not available. The only downfall I see so far is that there is only an on-line manual. I would like to see a printed manual incase something happens and the computer won't load.

I bought my first Toshiba Tecra in 1998. After years of use and unfortunately some abuse it's still working. Since then my wife has gone through 3 other manufacturers' laptops. This time we both got Satellite A305s. She uses hers for work. I use mine for photo work and internet. Very nice machines with more features than I could have imagined ten years ago and much cheaper than in 1998. Great machines.

Buying this laptop has provided me with a fairly steep learning curve from my desktop. This is a very pretty machine and is so much faster than what I'd been accustomed to. I think it's well worth the price I was charged. However, it's a bit too intuitive for my taste. Without ever depressing a key, it sometimes it seems to think it knows what I want to do -- when it actually does not -- and goes ahead with that action. I don't care for that feature. I also tend to lose a lot of my emails before completing them -- only to find them tucked behind the cover page once I exit the program. And, occasionally, my mouse freezes up and I must reboot one or more times to reactivate the program. I was hoping that Windows Vista would be an improvement over XP Professional, but Vista seems to carry many of the same Windows-related problems that prompted me to buy this new machine. So, yes, I'm fairly happy with this laptop, but it's not everything I'd hoped it might be from reading the impressive reviews submitted by others.

The machine came with 64 bit Windows Vista and it seems to be fast, but i have been hampered by the lack of 64 bit drivers for most applications and devices, for example adobe flash player and GE ergonomic mouse will not function properly. This lack of drivers does not let me make full use of the machine.

I've had this laptop for about 2 months. So far Ive been satisfied with the machine, except for a few things. The well known issue with the finger prints can be a bit of an annoyance, but no big deal. The dvd player/burner on the other hand is SLOW as heck, but since I hardly use it it's not much of a problem for me, but still... Overall I think it's a nice machine, I can multitask with it and it runs WoW nicely; but it does lags some when you're in a crowded area. Good laptop for the price you pay for it.

The laptop is well built and has an excellent display, good amount of RAM and hard drive space. The keyboard has a good feel, sufficient USB ports, eSATA port a plus. Battery life could be better, however, using the power management schemes help out somewhat. I hate Vista - many of my programs do not run - hope microsoft provides a reasonably priced upgrade for Windows 7 when it's finally released.

Only complaint would be the connection of the screen to the computer body. When used on an unstable surface the screen wobbles. This is only a problem when there is strong reflection on screen.

First of all, this laptop did not come loaded with much third party software. A little yes, but not much. So it's off to a good start already. Get a full charge within a couple of hours...last at least that long too. No problems with the 6909 as of now. It's responsive and has enough usb ports to satisfy my needs. Really a nice gift to yourself or anyone else. Especially when considering the overall features and price.
